On September 12th, Wisdom unveiled a fleet of independent R&D and manufactured hydrogen “green buses” in Abu Dhabi, including city bus, intercity bus, and double-decker. This pioneering initiative is set to have a significant impact by reducing carbon emissions and improving the sustainability of public transportation.

The forthcoming green bus service is scheduled to initiate operations on route number 65, linking Marina Mall and Shams Boutique on Reem Island. This innovative initiative comprehensively evaluates and selects the best hydrogen bus technologies tailored to local needs, emphasizing advanced technology and rigorously assessing the performance of these new energy buses in local operating conditions, making it the pioneering project in the region.
In collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Wisdom is honored to play a pivotal role in the “Green Bus Program,” aimed at facilitating the transformation of Abu Dhabi Island into a sustainable public transport zone by the year 2030. The program’s primary goal is to transition the public bus fleet from diesel fuel to renewable energy sources, with the expected outcome of reducing over 100,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Launched in November 2023, the project is currently undergoing an evaluation period until June 2025. During this period, the program will oversee the performance of the new buses, establish support facilities, and train drivers and technicians to prepare for the arrival of more new energy vehicles in the region. The overall objective is to enhance local expertise, facilitate the transfer of technological knowledge, and promote indigenous production capabilities.
